In 1820, two Venetian-style palaces were erected in the central Piazza San Babila in honour of the lagoon city. In one of these was opened the Bottiglieria del Leone, the old and first bar in the Piazza, famous for its wines and aquavit.<\/p>\n

Mid-19th century<\/h2>\n

The bar became famous for a special aperitif, which was produced and bottled in-house: Costum\u00e8 Canetta. A sweetish drink made from distilled wormwood flowers, alcohol and white wine, with a rather sweet taste, served by simply chilling with ice.<\/p>\n

1885 marks a historic change at the helm of the luxurious bar in Piazza San Babila.
Annunciata Bourn\u00e8 (1844-1903), an important benefactor for her city, led part of her industrious life in Milan, where, among her many activities, she devoted herself to running a restaurant for many years.<\/p>\n

It was Annunciat\u00e0 Bourn\u00e8 herself who, with the intuition of a contemporary marketing expert and an all-female sensibility, gave birth to Bitter Ginrosa: the pink aperitif, the only one able to compete with the red Campari.<\/p>\n

Early 1900s<\/h2>\n

After being managed by Annunciat\u00e0 Bourn\u00e8, the premises were sold to a well-known merchant, Luigi Donini, who gave it a new, revolutionary image, transforming it into a modern bar, equipped with a coffee machine and a counter for quick service. He participated in the first Milan Exhibition in 1906 (EXPO) with the Donini kiosk. He then produced the 'Mistura Donini', the predecessor of the herbal Bitter Ginrosa, which was appreciated by customers with great success.<\/p>\n

The restaurant is named after its aperitif: GINROSA<\/p>\n

In the 1950s, the bar was taken over by the Marangone family, who continued the production of GINROSA Bitter, which by then was destined to become world famous. Over time, GINROSA Bitter has been served to intellectuals, poets, politicians and celebrities from all walks of modern life.<\/p>\n

In 2000, the management passed to the De Luca family, which runs the business in the premises located inside the Galleria San Babila, premises that have preserved the memory of tradition and the continuity of Aperitivo production.
The bar is one of Milan's few authentic, historic venues, an intimate corner ideal for a break away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The GINROSA Bitter formula is secret and exclusively registered worldwide.<\/p>\n

200 Anni\u00a0 di Storia nel Primo BAR di Milano<\/strong><\/h1>\r\n\"\"Il GINROSA \u00e8 una vera e propria istituzione milanese, un pezzo della Milano storica, un caposaldo della citt\u00e0 che vive e beve ricercando stile e buon gusto.\r\nIl GINROSA \u00e8 uno dei locali pi\u00f9 antichi della citt\u00e0, sopravvissuto al periodo fascista e ai bombardamenti della seconda guerra mondiale.\r\n
All\u2019indomani dell\u2019Unit\u00e0 d\u2019Italia, nella centralissima piazza San Babila vennero eretti due palazzi in stile veneziano in onore della citt\u00e0 lagunare. In uno di questi fu aperta la Bottiglieria del Leone, antico e primo bar della Piazza famoso per i suoi vini e per l\u2019acquavite.<\/blockquote>\r\nNel 1885<\/strong> il locale divenne famoso per uno speciale aperitivo, che veniva prodotto ed imbottigliato li, il Costum\u00e8 Canetta , bevanda dolciastra a base di fiori di assenzio distillati, alcool e vino bianco, dal gusto piuttosto dolce. Veniva prodotto nei laboratori annessi al locale e servito alla mescita semplicemente rinfrescandolo con del ghiaccio.\r\n
Infine subentr\u00f2 Annunciata Bourn\u00e8 (1844 \u2013 1913),<\/strong> a cui \u00e8 dedicata la centrale via di Oleggio (NO), e che fu per la propria citt\u00e0 un importante benefattrice. Condusse parte della sua operosa vita a Milano, dove, per molti anni,gest\u00ec il lussuoso bar di Piazza San Babila, importante luogo d\u2019incontri e d\u2019affari.\r\nPer affrontare la concorrenza del \u201crosso\u201d Campari, ideato da Gaspare Campari<\/strong> ,anche lui novarese, Annunciata Bourn\u00e8<\/strong>, con il fiuto di un moderno esperto di marketing e con una sensibilit\u00e0 tutta femminile,ne cre\u00f2 uno differente e lo chiamo GINROSA<\/strong>, non \u201crosso\u201d ma \u201crosa\u201d, formula che diede vita all\u2019attuale aperitivo \u201cil GINROSA\u201d.<\/strong><\/blockquote>\r\nSuccessivamente, il locale fu ceduto a un noto commerciante, Luigi Donini, che gli diede un\u2019immagine rivoluzionaria, trasformandolo in un moderno bar, dotato di macchina per il caff\u00e8 e di un bancone per il servizio veloce.\u00a0 Inoltre, risulta che un suo parente fosse direttore di una farmacia e a quest\u2019ultimo si attribu\u00ec la paternit\u00e0 della formula dell\u2019aperitivo della Casa. Nacque la mistura Donini. Il Caffe Donini partecip\u00f2 all\u2019esposizione internazionale di Milano nel 1906.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nNegli anni \u201950<\/strong> il Bar venne acquisito dalla famiglia Marangione, che continu\u00f2 la produzione del GINROSA destinato ormai a diventare famoso in tutto il mondo e a dare il nome allo storico locale gi\u00e0 dal 1931. Nel tempo il GINROSA \u00e8 stato servito a intellettuali, poeti, politici, e personaggi famosi di tutti gli aspetti della vita moderna.\r\n
