Sensory profile of aged malt from the 1980s<\/h2>\n

The nose is greeted by an explosion of stewed fruit, sultanas and an intense, very clean note of Oloroso sherry. There are clear hints of baked red apple, cinnamon and a touch of bitter orange zest, typical of long maturation periods. With every breath, layers of complexity are revealed, evoking dark caramel and carefully toasted pecans. This harmony stems from a distillation process that is the slowest on the entire Scottish mainland. There are also hints of marzipan and milk chocolate that enrich the olfactory experience in a memorable way. Many collectors seek out this bouquet for its extraordinary ability to remain vibrant despite having been bottled several decades ago. The persistence of the aromas is magnificent and continues to evolve in the glass, revealing notes of vanilla and European oak.
