Descrizione

The Cabreo Il Borgo, Tuscany 2011 is a red wine that embodies the Tuscan tradition as interpreted by Tenimenti Ruffino. This IGT Toscana is made from carefully selected grapes grown in the vineyards of the Cabreo estate, situated in the heart of the Tuscan hills. The wine displays structure and aromatic depth thanks to its long ageing in oak and the natural balance of the Sangiovese and other varieties used in the blend. On the first sip, the Cabreo Il Borgo, Tuscany It is remarkable for its rich bouquet and lingering aftertaste.

Region and Origin

The Cabreo vineyards are situated on well-drained, hilly terrain, with mineral-rich soil and excellent sun exposure. The combination of altitude, climate and soil composition promotes optimal ripening of the grapes. Here, the vines find ideal conditions for developing complex aromas, structure and balanced acidity. Tenimenti Ruffino adheres to strict organic vineyard management criteria to preserve the quality of the grapes.

Wine-making and Ageing

The winemaking process for Cabreo Il Borgo is carried out using traditional techniques, with alcoholic fermentation taking place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Prolonged maceration on the skins allows for the extraction of colour, flavour and tannins. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels for a period exceeding eighteen months. This ageing process promotes the harmonious integration of the tannins and enhances the wine’s aromatic complexity.

Organoleptic characteristics

The wine has an intense ruby-red colour with garnet highlights. On the nose, aromas of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, hints of tobacco and subtle notes of vanilla emerge. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with well-structured tannins and a balanced freshness. The finish is long, persistent and enveloping, with fruity notes that invite you to take a second sip.

Gastronomic pairings

This wine pairs perfectly with rich, full-bodied dishes. Try it with roast red meat, braised dishes, game and mature cheeses. Its aromatic complexity and full-bodied structure also make it ideal with hearty dishes from traditional Tuscan cuisine. Serve the wine at between 16 and 18 °C to bring out its aromas and flavour.
